My posts have been pretty quiet this week, and I can’t think of a better remedy to that than New York noiseniks Oneida covering This Heat.
Music
Coming out of a necessary stasis. Here is some Tuber. I really like the cover art on this one. Heavy, instrumental post rock. Think Polvo and Iron Maiden had a baby.
Also, they recently remixed their Tuber lp in it’s entirety. Listen on.
Florist stays fragile on the second single they’ve released off of their upcoming Holdly EP.
Easing out of yesterday’s country vibe, Promised Land Sound still have some twang about them, but it’s more Byrds-ian than honky tonk.
Inventions (members of Eluvium and Explosions in the Sky) are going full post-rock and releasing a 2 song EP that’s nearly 30 minutes long. To preview it, they’ve let out a snippet of one of the tracks, “Hearing Loss”.
The Pains offer up their sugary-sweet take on the James classic “Laid”. It’ll be on their forthcoming Hell EP, along with a Felt cover and an original.
METZ gonna METZ.
If I’m being honest, Keep Shelly in Athens haven’t really been able to hold my attention over the course of an entire album since their first few Forest Family releases. But they still know how to craft an atmosphere, and this new single hit me when I was in just the right mood. “Silent Rain” sounds like it could open up a very European low-budget Bond ripoff and set the mood perfectly.
