Live

Sort of teetering back into this. I remember when Uncle Tupelo played the Khyber Pass in Philly. I was underaged and didn’t go. I’d snuck into the Khyber a couple of times, but it was far from the norm. Anyhow, reports back were that I would have liked it. I’m sort of easy to gauge in that way. Here is video of their last show. Check it out.

Let’s go Outback tonight. There’s been a ton of great live albums being pumped out lately, especially from Third Man and Castleface. Polyvinyl is throwing their hat into the ring with Snare Lustrous Doomings, a live Of Montreal LP with a tracklisting that reads like a greatest hits album.

It’s just about that time of year for Thee Oh Sees to inevitably drop a new LP. “Web” is off Mutilator Defeated at Last, out May 18th on John Dwyer’s own Castleface Records. If the rest of the album follows suit, it seems like it will be of the Carrion Crawler/The Dream variety of Oh Sees burners, as opposed to their more Kinks-ian leanings featured on last year’s Drop.

…and if you were curious as to how “Web” sounds live, I’ve got some good news for you! Check out the video below.

This is the age of open misogyny. Fortunately, Jean Smith knows what to say about it.  Thank you Jean.  Thank you David Lester.  Thank you Mecca Normal.

Ok, so that’s pretty cool.  But how about mecca normal in a canoe?  wtf?  I know.  Very wonderful.

Sacred Bones posted a link to this “The It’s Dawning Session” by Chile’s The Holydrug Couple today, and it’s well worth passing along. The rest of the videos can be found here.
