Matt Picks a Jim Song
Holy shit is that G.L.O.S.S. song capital-A Angry. Give it a listen immediately, it’s 90 seconds you won’t regret.
Jim Picks a Matt Song
Viet Cong is great. The word is they may be changing their name. Regardless what you think, the music is good. But my pick for this week is Wildhoney.
7″ Highlight – Kim Phuc
Matt highlighted some hard to find 7″ records from legendary Pittsburgh band Kim Phuc. Their existence was brief, but their music was awesome.
Sunday, September 13th Radio Show Playlist
The show featured good music. Which I can’t link to right now for silly reasons. More later…
How about a word from New Orleans post-punk outfit Heat Dust. A word on Seeking a Praxis. A word on destiny. A word on reverb.
Sometimes I forget how much I like that classic indie rock sound. Run Forever here reminds me a lot of Karl Hendricks Trio. Is their crossover between these Pittsburgh bands? Or just major influences?
Wildhoney isn’t wasting any time following up on their stellar debut, Sleep Through It, that came out earlier this year. Your Face Sideways is an EP due out in October on Topshelf records, and “Laura” is the first glimpse of said EP that the band has made public. Looking at the tracklist, here’s hoping “FSAII” actually has some sort of relation to Flying Saucer Attack.
I’ve had to put energy into other life arenas lately. So i’ve been just barely getting these up in time. K Records has been going around posting various stuff from their archives on bandcamp. Which is quite nice. I wish they would include downloads with their vinyl purchases, but glad to see this stuff available. Anyhow, this song was making me feel whatever it was I needed to feel this morning. And who doesn’t love Beat Happening? Except maybe complete assholes.
