All posts for the month January, 2015

Thurston Moore has a new album coming out with John Moloney.  I like the percussion emphasis and the slow heavy thing here.  It’s a bit of a shift from a lot of what Thurston has done of late. I really, really like it.

I wish I could tell you more about Kaitlyn, but the fact that this song exists is about all I know at this point. I’d say we’re off to a good start, at least.

On a completely unrelated note, the video below really made me nostalgic for the awesome High Atlas scenery of Morocco, and is well worth the five minutes it’ll take you to watch it. Maybe go crazy and listen to “Careen” at the same time? If you’re lucky, they’ll sync up. I’ll be on Kayak trying to find cheap airfare to Casablanca.

It’s not a shocker that I love something from Phil Elverum and his band Mount Eerie.  I kind of love everything.  But this is upper echelon stuff.  And the video is so Mount Eerie.  From the upcoming LP.

Figured it worthwhile to pass along this wonderful playlist by BitchTapes. If you like what you hear, there’s plenty more over at their website.
