One of Pittsburgh’s own great bands. They’ve been doing this a long time and still sound great.

I could stretch and make the claim that this is vaguely music related, since Interpol’s Paul Banks is one of the guests on this episode of Scott Aukerman’s Comedy Bang Bang podcast, but the real reason I’m posting it is Horatio Sanz, of SNL fame. He makes me laugh out loud to myself at least a half dozen times over the course of his appearance. He shows up (as Aaron Neville) around the 36 minute mark, though a “sound proofer” who sounds suspiciously like Sanz makes a brief appearance around 22 minutes in, too.
Never heard of these folks before, but enjoy this classic sounding rock ‘n roll from Philly. I found this via the Big Ups. Silly rabbit hole.
Coast through the remainder of your Friday on some soul vibes, courtesy of Mr. Bridges.
Ex Hex is the latest project from Helium veteran Mary Timony. Here is their new video.
Seems like we’re always posting something from Ovlov. But I like them. Found this via Wondering Sounds who said:
There’s some of the same gurgle-and-pound that defined Dinosaur Jr.’s classic You’re Living All Over Me, but Ovlov are less stingy with hooks.
I do like Ovlov, but I wouldn’t mind if they were a bit more stingy with the hooks. It can still stick in your head which dino jr has done to me for years. Still, this is a good song.
I enjoyed this. That’s a lot of hyphens in the subject line.
