All posts for the month September, 2014

Holy shit, love this.  The whole compilation this comes from is amazing.  Noticed it because the Downtown Boys posted about it.  So glad that they did.

I’ve always maintained a slight interest in JtB because of their past lives spent in Be Your Own Pet, but if I’m being honest, nothing they’ve done has really clicked with me yet. There’s a good chance that will change soon, as they prepare to release Dig the Classics, a covers EP, at the end of this month. Besides My Bloody Valentine, the duo give the Brotherhood treatment to Beck, Teenage Fanclub, The Pixies, The Wipers, and Colleen Green. Should be interesting if nothing else.

Anamai is the nom de plume of Anna Mayberry, and while I don’t know much about the project yet, this smokey, mysterious bit of music from her self-titled EP that she put out last year is enough to convince me to start digging around.

Yesterday I posted some new Krill.  That was on a split 7″ from double double whammy.  Then I saw this from Mitksi. And it’s good.

Freedom has no bounds is a great music blog from an old compatriot at wkdu.  Here is some Dead Kennedys video from Mike. Lots of great live audio and video available on the blog.
